Ever see the movie Groundhog day? Since September 18th I swear I've been living it. Every time the water starts to drop into prime conditions, another rain storm rips through. When the water has been fishable, the fishing has still been terrific. Sorry no new pics at the moment, cameras and steady all day rain don't mix.

Fishing was fantastic!!! I'm still talking to guys who aren't finding many fish, my number is 724-622-8426, enough said.
A nice 10lb PA steelhead

Well the rains have finally left us, leaving us with clear water now but still a decent flow. There are very good numbers of fish in the tribs, some guys are just having a hard time finding them, but I know this angler is having an outstanding season!

It just keeps on raining. It's not often you'll hear a steelhead fisherman complain about the rain, but this is getting ridiculous. The fishing has been excellent when the rain will hold off for more than 12 hours. But everytime the water gets to be prime we get dumped on again. On Monday the rain held off and we pretty much caught fish from sun up to sun down, I threw in the towel about an hour before dark because I just couldn't fight another fish. I figured I'd save a few for today. Well I did and managed to hook into and easy dozen in the first hour of daylight, then came the rain, lightning, and oh yes, just what I really wanted, HAIL!!! There is simply nothing more enjoyable then having a day of incredible fishing ruined by storms and being pelted with ice pellets on your way back to the car!!! :-) Luckily our streams clear quickly and when we do get a dry spell , if I were you, I'd want to be on the streams with me, 724-622-8426.
Jeff with a nice one

Went for a long walk today to see what was around the areas I haven't been to lately. The answer is ,"FISH", is what's around. Even in the mile long stretch of water that a nice gentleman said had no fish in it when he was leaving, somehow I caught fish out of every pool, imagine that.

Do I really need to keep repeating myself? Yet another great day in PA!!! And guess what, I bet it continues right on through... oh I don't know, APRIL!! But there is still nothing like the fresh run Chrome of late summer/early fall. The high water of the last week has brought in even more fresh fish from the lake, however they have spread over very long distances. Which is great for those willing to cover some ground and fish over small pods of 10 to 20 rather than the 100's that were stacked in the lower stream last week.
I really need to start carrying my camera and get away from this camera phone. But here is a small sample of the many fish fought today.

Yet another fantastic week of fishing, minus two days of high dirty water. Fish are spread out quite far now and it's not even October yet. I didn't take many pictures but I have a couple including another lake run Brown trout. I just might take this weekend off, I don't know if I can fight another fish at the moment.

09/16 - 09/17/2006
What can I say, while the water is low and the crowds have arrived, the fishing just keeps getting better for our group. I didn't have the scale to weigh the big fish of the weekend but it was an easy 10+ pounds, what a great fish!!

I fished the last 3 days, spending time on the lakeshore and in the streams. The water only came up a little bit from the rains but it did move fish up and also attracted more from the lake.I couldn't have asked for anything more. Here's just a few pics of the many fish landed starting with a nice Lake Erie Brown Trout.

Fishing is great and continues to get better with more fish arriving daily, despite the low water. We found lots of hungry fish and left with sore arms from hard fighting, fresh run Chrome!!!! A few more pictures of many that were landed, starting with the first 10lber of the year!!!

I fished alone today and had a fantastic day of early season fishing. The water is low and clear but there are fish around to be caught. It was a little tough to keep them out of the brush in a few places , but it was a blast trying to stop them before they found the trees. Here are just a few pics of the many I managed to land today.

I fished again today with my two brothers, Stan and Frank. There were a few more fish around after the rain we had Friday night and Saturday morning. But still not a "big run" of fish. We all managed to land several adult steelies in the 5 to 8lb range and a few small fish as well.We found fish a short ways up some streams, unfortunately only a few and there were long sections of dead water between them. With the lake temperature cooling off nicely it will only get better from here. A few pics from today are below, sorry for the poor quality, sometimes the camera phone works great, but others not so great.

I spent today fishing a couple of PA tribs with my brother Mark. We had a nice day for this early in the season. Most of the fish around are smaller fish, as usual for this time of year, but there are a few more adult steelhead showing themselves each day. We managed to land a few decent fish and quite a few small fish in the 15 to 18" range. Several nice fish were fought and lost as well. Not many people around yet, which was the biggest key to our success with so few fish in the streams.
