Pennsylvania steelhead begin showing up in late summer, with fishable numbers usually in the mouths of the streams by October. After the first major run of fish there are usually large numbers of steelhead through winter and early spring. In my opinion, the best time for PA steelhead is October and November. That is when we receive the bulk of our "fresh" run steelhead entering from the lake. They will remain throughout winter, but most years the streams will begin to freeze over around Christmas making conditions more difficult, but not always impossible if you care to brave the cold!!
I offer guided trips starting October 1st through April 10th.
